形態特徵

• Rhizome tuberous. Stem 1-2 m tall, bearing 2 or 3 branches in age; upper stem leafy.
• Leaf sheaths tubular, 4 cm long, margin hairy; petiole 5-7 mm long, with short hairs; blade 23 cm long by 5 cm wide, ovate, apex acuminate, base narrowly rounded, dark green, glabrous or finely hairy; midrib pale, grooved, finely hairy toward below.
• Inflorescence a terminal, capitate spike. Peduncle curved. Bracts ovate, acute, 1.5 cm long, green tinged with red, densely hairy, margin ciliate; bracteole below each flower 1, 1 cm long, keeled. Calyx longer than bract, 2 cm long, ovary 3-lobed, lateral lobes keeled, margins ciliate; calyx tube shorter than calyx, red after flowering; ovary flattened, 8 mm wide; corolla tube shorter than calyx, faintly pinkish; labellum curved, trumpet shaped, edges overlapping, 5 cm long, with a cream colored median band, band with yellow hairs; stamen filament flattened, 2.5 mm long by 1.5 cm wide, yellow at apex, hairy abaxially.
• Fruit bright red, dehiscing loculicidally. Seeds black, with fleshy white aril, all in one group.

• 世界 : Indo-Malaysia, Java, the Philippines, Hainan.
